ROWG is an HF radar-centric meeting for the exchange of ideas and information among HF radar operators and engineers. The biennial Radiowave Operators Working Group (ROWG) sponsored by NOAA’s US IOOS is the only event dedicated to the operations, maintenance, and data output management of HF radar. Providing a unique, multi-day opportunity for collaboration on these topics, the next ROWG event is scheduled to take place 16-18 October 2018 at the NOAA National Marine Sanctuary Monterey Bay Sanctuary Exploration Center in Santa Cruz, CA

The biennial Radiowave Operators Working Group (ROWG) sponsored by NOAA’s US IOOS is the only event dedicated to the operations, maintenance, and data output management of HF radar. Providing a unique, multi-day opportunity for collaboration on these topics, the next ROWG event is scheduled to take place 14-15 March 2017 on the Texas A&M University campus in Galveston, Texas.

Tentative outline of events inside ROWG are following:

Monday 13 March: Participants arrive into Galveston. Informal evening gathering and discussions at an off-campus location.

Tuesday 14 March: Presentations & discussions in classroom-style setting.
Wednesday 15 March: Radar site visit (in morning) followed by technical discussions and event wrap-up (in afternoon).

CODAR Day @ ROWG 2017

As with previous ROWG gatherings, CODAR Ocean Sensors will host a CODAR Day on Thursday 16 March, to provide detailed, product-specific information. Those in the CODAR user community attending ROWG are encouraged to stay for CODAR Day to participate in discussions pertaining to best practices and upcoming updates and improvements. A much anticipated topic, the upcoming software releases will be presented: SeaSonde Radial Suite Release 8 and SeaSonde Combine Suite Release 8.
